Greetings from the New Girl

First post here. I ordered my Area 51m on September 30. Phase six so far. I was starting to wonder if they'd make the estimated ship date of October 25, so I pm-ed Alienware-James and he checked on it for me, said that it looked like it would be on time. W00t!

Though I am prepared for it to be late, if that happens - I was kind of expecting it after reading everyone's stories.

Anyway, I'm excited. I've been a gamer geek girl for a while, and I've been yearning for a Conspiracy Blue Alienware notebook for years.

As a side note, I'm also an rpg geek girl, and am going to be using this machine mostly (but not exclusively!) for playing WoW when it is released (I'm not in beta yet, but got to play stress test beta for a few days and fell in love). Yes, I know, it's a bit overblown to play WoW with, but that's what I thought when I bought my Dell Inspiron two years ago - it was good enough to play DAOC with, but now two years later it's too slow to run the upcoming DAOC expansion. Hopefully my blue baby will give me years to come of rpg goodness.

Anyway. Rambling a bit. Glad to be joining the Alienware family.

Thanks for the welcome. ;D And I figure I've hopefully got a good portion of my wait over with already; it's been 19 days, and it sounds like the average for the laptops is about a month ...

Yeah, we'll see how it goes - I'm not gonna freak out if I don't get it on time, but you know how it is, even if you're level headed about it you're still really excited, and want to get it as soon as possible.

Hopefully your last few phases will go quickly - it sounds like sometimes it zips through the last part and straight to shipping, for some people at least.

Hah! You're good. Hibbie all the way, and I've always been on Guinevere. I've not played regularly in a while, though, and I don't have any characters over 42, so really no one but my rl friends know me on there.

Well 9 out of 10 times I see someone that is a daoc player on a forum they are hib. Apparantly Alb's and Mid's aren't smart enough to work any forum other than vnboards. I think I have an alt on Guin, probably a /lvl 30 while they still had that whole mess going on. I'm a lite daoc player now, just for the bg goodness. Good luck when WoW comes out. I think I'll definatly be taking a swing at it since toa crippled non hardcore daoc players.

Hee! I actually avoid the vault boards like the plague; anytime I try to read them I just get edgy. I'll be cancelling my account soon; I enjoyed it for a while, but it's definitely a limited game, and the levelling process is such a grind. WoW, so far at least, is so much more fun. I only got to play it for a few days, but I adored it. It's also very friendly to casual and solo players.

It seems most games start out that way but usually change due to the demands of the hardcore everpresent gamers. I hope WoW has the foresight to not alienate their casual gamers like Mythic did.

Thank you thank you! Are you a geek girl too, or is your username just in reference to the 'puter?

WoW almost looks cool enough to lure me away from Final Fantasy XI, but I just can't afford two monthly fees. Anyway, welcome.

WoW rocks! I was lucky enough to get the beta a few weeks ago. There is only one down side to the game - way too addicting!

I got to play the stress beta for just about three days - it wasn't even my account, but a kind friend let me log in to his and try it out. It was everything I'd hoped it would be. You can be certain that as soon as it's released I'll be obsessed with playing my Tauren warrior.
