Yeah so I called alienware a few days ago in regards to my Aurora, and the woman from customer service (She had a hispanic accent, I do not remember her name) told me I was being delayed because my Geforce 6800 GT was backordered, which I thought was strange.. But I shrugged it off.
Now I called again today, and my system is to be delayed 2 weeks because the production team is delayed or something, I didn't understand what he was telling me. Why would they estimate on the site so early if they know they are having production problems. I asked the guy about the backorder of the 6800 GT and he said that never happened. Where are these people getting their information, it's like they just make things up because they are too incompetitant to make a computer on the time they said they would.
Today it was SUPPOSED to ship from the original date on the site, and now it's atleast 2 weeks, (friday after nezt he -thinks-). Alienware is a fairly big, professional company, I expected more from them. They don't even call you when something is delayed 2 weeks, purely amazing. I was counting on this system getting to me for digital editing for a school project, guess that idea disappeared. I don't have a problem being patient, but I am sick of alienware NEVER having a surplus and always having "unexpected" shortages which costs the consumer valuable time for a product they may have been anticipating for a certain timeframe, all laid out by the company themself. Ugh. I am very unhappy.
Phase 4 on the original ship date. Purely amazing.
