How to configure my MS mouse's scroll wheel

I have a MS intelliexplorer 3.0...as of right now, when I use the scroll wheel it scrolls 1 line at a time. I really need to bump this up as scrolling like this is extremely slow, however when I change the options in CP > Mouse , it also changes how much my touchpad scrolls.

I'd like to keep my touchpad scrolling at 1 line per, but would like to bump up the amount of lines it scrolls at a time when using my MS mouse...anyone know how I can do this?

Did you install the intellimouse software? I don't know if using it will give you the desired effect or also cause the touchpad scaling to change, but worth a shot if you haven't already tried it.

I attempted to install it awhile back and it tried to overwrite the touchpad software so I aborted...
