That's why I was going to get a PCI video card and just disable the shared video.

I'd consider spending a little more on the machine and get away from that Celeron myself.

Same sentiment here.
But as a low cost alternative the vid card should be ok.

Thats also a nearly 9 months old machine and you'd be hard pressed to find a new one the only way you'd be able to get one is refurbished likely.

Oh, I already have it. I've just been thinking about getting a video card finally.

I also have 768 MB of RAM now too.

How about these:

That way you can upgrade later to a better video card (AGP SLOT), and for now the 9100 IGP is probably better than a G4MX and definitely better then the Intel Extreme Decelerator.

Try Ati Radeon...at least a 9200 or GeForce FX 5200 or better. Both of those shouldn't be more than $100 if you shop around. There is no AGP slot available? That is the biggest problem with 'budget' PC's IMHO... Too bad PCI slots can't run PCI-E LOL.
You MAY also try to find a Sound Blaster Live OEM or Audigy card. Speaking of which...has anyone else seen the new SoundBlaster(tm) Audigy 2 PCMCIA Type II card? For $129 we can upgrade to SB AUDIGY 2 YAY! Sure beats AC'97...has THX and 7.1 certification!
