Makes me feel better about having a 6800

what? by looking at the link you provided it looks like "Geforce 6800 cards owns Ati X800 cards in CS Source" AT LOW RESOLUTION SETTINGS.
and ati owns at higher resolutions.

notice how this is the CS:S beta ...and how the "results are subject to change" quote is put in there

And if you pay that much for a card you want to play it at high res.

You're looking at the stress test.

They pull even at max res in the actual game.

Both are great cards.

btw: its not half-life 2, its a mod. just cause ati said their cards would run better in HL2 doesnt mean it will run better in CS:S...plus that game isnt even final, and it wont be for a long time, so you cant really say much about having better framerates in a game that is continually patched as a mod.

edit: "We see the Radeon X800 Pro and X800 XT PE finally take the lead over their GeForce 6800 GT and Ultra counterparts at our most challenging Stress Test setting..."

x800's still perform better.

I dunno, but the chart shows that 6800 beat the X800 in some HIGH RES benchmarks on that test.

Anyways your too touchy LOL, it's just an article.

I think he was just trying to get a reaction out of people, too funny

Even so, I'm not going to change my card because of it. i'm willing to play halflife 2, I'm looking forward to it. However, I will not change my computer because of it. I'm a nvidia, but I'm not going to change my graphics cards just because some article says it rocks. I let actual time and tests over series of games, and most of all excperinece tell me it is good. Keep your article, keep CS source, I'll wait for halflife with my nicely fitted laptop.

In all fairness it's unlikely you'd be able to notice the different frame rates betweeen the two cards regardless at what res you play. Can't we just all get along and be glad HL2 didnt turn out to be a turd.

hehe, i dunno what you mean

I got 70FPS constant with CS:source

Resolution 1680x1050 (apple aluminum 20" cinema display)
eVGA 6800GT (clocked to Ultra speeds)
Athlon XP 2500+ (clocked to 3200+ 11x200)
1GB if ram

settings is everything at high with 8x anis and 2x anti

FRAG ON!
