In order to configure TCP/IP, you must install and enable a network adapter card.....

Thread Starter
I own a Dell Latitude D400 with a Dothan 755.

I have :
Conexant D480 MDC V.9x Modem
1394 Net Adapter
Bluetooth LAN Access Server Driver
Broadcom 570x Gigabit Integrated Controller
Intel (R) PRO / Wireless LAN 2100 3A Mini PCI Adapter

Initially, I had no problems configuring my IP address
by changing the properties of the LAN under network connections.
Now, whenever I try to access the properties of the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
for the LAN, I get the following message :
"In order to configure TCP/IP, you must install and enable a network adapter card.......??"

The strange thing is that I have no problem hooking up to the LAN.... or wireless....

Right click on the connection and tell it to repair. If that doesn't work try disabling and re-enabling it. Then I'd re-install the drivers for the LAN.
