i came home early for ups to pick my i8600 for a return, the slip said 2-5..i called several times after around 6 and they said the delivery guy is behind schedule..then i call later they said wait till around 9 since pick ups are last...i waited till 10 nothing..by then their offices were closed..i came home early and had to cancel appointments because i thought they would pick up today...i guess i'll drop it off at their facility tomorrow..what a big hassle, when i was scheduled and told they would come today

I second the motion of the nanners and aliums.

I am quite looking foward to getting my 86, but am also dreading it cause then I will be prompted to go out and buy

1) wireless router (prob not go out and buy, but wait for good deal)
2) bag
3) one of them smancy nushields
4) mouse
5) other crap

now if only all the companies that make those products would do their 50% off sale.

I agree that a contractor would be hard pressed to justify the lost day...but if you haven't taken a day since 1995, you deserve it! I also have a feeling that one day off with the toy will have you feeling better in no time!! Enjoy your new toys boys!

hehe.. well i sure will have fun with the toy once i receive it. it is hard for me to justify taking a sick day or taking off because trying to get my hands on the new lappy. just different opinion.

but again, even thought i go back to work, it does not mean i can get work done ehehehe

you might want to get the zeroshock sleeve. i just ordered it last week and got it today. it feels good on squeezing the sleeve because you know your new lappy will be protected very well thou.
get a backpack bag. i have lot of laptop bags. most of them i got from previous company. they are the "business" type laptop bags. some of them are very welll made and protect the lappy very well but they are kind of heavy. i want to get the timbuk2 backpack or the messenger bag. they are nice but they are expensive

for the router, you might want to check out

My 1.8 700m is on its way as well. It changed from boxing to shipped last night. UPS says its origin is Portland, OR, which is only 3 hours from Seattle. So I will be getting mine tomorrow. That would be exactly one week from order to delivery.

OUT FOR DELIVERY

Unlike all of you, I missed out on the offer EVEN THOUGH I checked it out at 7 AM (EST) the first day (I refused to do a 24 % finance on it and didn't want to pay the $1,000 in cash--I was looking to do it like hpefully 0 % for a few months but I guess Dell doesn't offer that)...Now Im stuck looking at an HP VT5000 from HP.com for about 1349 and Im going to try and do it 0 % for 12 months....Next time for a Good Dell deal is around mid-end of January when their 4th quarter ends....

Well it looks like that shipping before the 31st is true. My XPS which was slanted for a November 4th ship date, went to the shipping status over the weekend. Estimated delivery date is the 29-2nd I reall hope it comes the 29th.

To all those that got theirs enjoy because I will be sad until mine comes.

You guys all need to get lives. I mean, come off it. Waiting for your laptop like a bunch of children.

Now where the hell is my 8600. If the UPS dude takes lunch first I am gonna scream at him :P

Our new 8600 was delivered this morning, was shipped yesterday (and I got it ground shipping, should have taken 3 or 4 days, not 1 ).

I'm just a bit dissapointed with the graphite swirl cover .

Just got this email from Dell:
We have reviewed your order. Although we had anticipated being able to
ship your order sooner,
we are experiencing an unexpected delay with your order and will not be
able to ship this order and any associated orders until on or before
11-16-2004.

No action is required to proceed with the new date, however, if you do
not wish to wait, you may cancel your order.
If you wish to cancel your order or if you have any questions, please
go to www.support.dell.com or contact us at 1-800-624-9897, extension
(66966).

I order the 700m with 1.6g/30g HD/cdr-w dvd/1350/ 8-cell battery about an hr after the 750 coupon went into effect. The status says "boxing" stage for 3 days now. And Dell sent me this email?? WTF!!! How could there be a delay if they are already done bulding the laptop??? I'm sooo pissed!!! NO dancing bananas for me!!! %*&))&!!!!!!

I just got the exact same thing! November 16th! I may have to cancel it. Anyone know of any other good ultraportables, preferably barebones?
If it wasn't for the $750 coupon, Dell would have gotten a cancellation call from me. I dont know why it's being delay at this final stage. I'm hoping that it's a computer glitch. I doubt it... I think you need the patience of a Zen master dealing with Dell.

My 600m showed up today. Not bad considering the mad rush to order laptops at $750 off!
