Ship Dates for $750 Purchases. - Page 9

Out for delivery, ordered, shipped, and delivered in less than 1 week. Awesome!
I ordered a 700m (1.6GHz) and it's been sitting in "In Production" status since the 19th. And the delivery date has been delayed to Nov. 15-17.

get a backpack bag. i have lot of laptop bags. most of them i got from previous company. they are the "business" type laptop bags. some of them are very welll made and protect the lappy very well but they are kind of heavy. i want to get the timbuk2 backpack or the messenger bag. they are nice but they are expensive

for the router, you might want to check out

am i gonna entirely regret getting a bag? Cause I'd really rather get the bag over the backpack, I dont mind a little extra weight.

I order the 700m with 1.6g/30g HD/cdr-w dvd/1350/ 8-cell battery about an hr after the 750 coupon went into effect. The status says "boxing" stage for 3 days now. And Dell sent me this email?? WTF!!! How could there be a delay if they are already done bulding the laptop??? I'm sooo pissed!!! NO dancing bananas for me!!! %*&))&!!!!!!
I ordered my 700m about 2 hours after you did. The only difference in the configurations is that I opted for the dual-layer DVD+R instead of the DVD/CDRW combo drive. Last night, mine jumped from checkmarks at Order processing and Pre-production, to checkmarks at Kitting, Building, and Testing. My estimated ship date still says November 1.

Two things:

1. From reading here and other boards, it seems that the vast majority of purchasers opted for the combo drive rather than the more expensive DVD+R. Maybe that's the hold-up? They exhausted stock?

but...

2. If you've been at the "boxing" stage (conceivably *after* the kitting, building, and testing stages), your delay makes no sense at all. How can it be delayed AFTER it's already built and tested?

Bizarre.

Well guess what ppl? Just logged into my Dell account to check the status like i do every day and more than once a day lately..lol..this is what it says:

Status:In Transit to Local Carrier
Your tracking number will be provided when your shipment arrives at the carrier's regional center. This can take 48-72 hours. Please check back to obtain your tracking number through this tool

So it looks like the email that was sent out this morning to notify the delay was wrong? Has anyone gotten into this situation before????? Im anxious!

yeah Ive had the delay notice sent then it shipped same day go figure your tracking number will probably post after Midnight tonight

Got my 700m yesterday (ordered at 6:00 am CST). So far pretty happy with it. The case seems cheapish but then again so was the price.

my 700m has been in production since the 19th, i called dell today and the automated system said that the order is in the 'build' stage.

the target ship date is 11-10-04, but i think it will ship before the 31.

Do me a favor and check your order right now. Mine just changed and the Kitting stage is highlighted now where I can click on it. Seems my 700m is finally moving foward. Well backwards if you count the fact that over the phone it's been telling me that it's in the build stage
post #172 of 221
Okay Kitting just went Bold black and now Build is highlighted. Hopefully it will arrive in the US by Wed or Thurs and maybe I'll still get it on Friday.
One of mine says it's in testing and the other says In Production on the website and 'build' on the phone. The one that's in testing had 'build' on the phone last night and testing today. Maybe you're right. It does seem to be moving forward.

On dell's customer forum, the MOD posted a lead times for 700Ms ordered today (10/26/04) as 15 business days.

My 9100 still has not changed from In Production since last week and all the sub-sections are greyed out. The est. ship date 11/1 has not changed though.

Base 9100 delivered today. Just one week-that was quick. Now for the fun part....

Still can't believe just $769 before Fatwallet discount. Go to CC or BB and see what $769 gets you!

As for the 9200, I'm glad I got my order in under the wire on the 9100.

Yup, it's a steal.

Were you checking the status online before it was delivered? Was the build progress info and estimated ship date close to accurate, or did it arrive on your doorstep ahead of schedule?

my 8600 shipped almost a week sooner than the estimate on the website. Delivery was more than a week earlier.

I ordered on the 19th, and it's arriving today. estimated ship was friday the 29th to monday november 1st with delivery around the 3rd to 5th of november.
