Waiting for the best time to jump on the 9800 card. Could we keep this going as a posting place for coupons useful for such a purchase. That way we can all know when the best time to pounce is. Thanks

Sounds good to me

I'd appreciate that too.

I know there's the Dell Coupons sticky in the General forum, but those are usually for systems.

Is the 9800 considered an "accessory" for coupon purposes, or does it fall under a different category?

399 Dell installs it for ya. Lets start getting the price lower guys!

I was just pricing out accessories and noticed they currently have %10 off on the 9800. Right now, it's $359.10 [You Save $39.90]. If you can cancel the install and get $100 off, that brings it down to $259. That's not bad considering they wanted an extra $359 to upgrade from the 64MB 9700 when I ordered.

Not sure if I should post this here, may not be a good idea. But I am getting a new 9800 256MB card from dell for my XPS but I have decided not to use it and it is for sale. PM for more information.

Don't forget the 3% fatcash
www.fatcash.com (comes from fatwallet.com)

Also, keep an eye on fatwallet.com (forums, hot deals) for Dell E&A coupons, generally i search for Dell Home, or Dell coupons, sometimes ya just gotta read some of the dell deals that are going on, and find the coupon codes.

Usually at least once a week (seems to be tuesday's) there's a $35 off $300 purchase or close to it.

I ordered, linked from fatcash for the 3% off, during another 10% off promo, canceled the install, installed it myself. Sold off the 9700 128meg for $92 (buddy wanted it), so ended up with a smoking deal on my card.

I took advantage of the 10% off on Wednesday. They told me that the ship date would be 11/18/04.

Much to my surprise, I received and email this morning stating that it had shipped!!

Hooray!!!

Here is what I did:
9800: $399
Pointing Stick Covers: $10.95

$50 off order of $400 or more accessories coupon (sorry was good on tues only but maybe they will have another now I haven't checked)

Total Price: $359.95

Then you can cancel the $98 install if you want to. So that is about the same total as the 10% off coupon but got some pointing stick covers for free.

Card is scheduled to arrive tuesday (10/26)

Spotted on Fatwallet:

S4KWRRCMQR6B3$

Expires Saturday, October 30, 2004

Dell Home Customers: $25 off any Electronics & Accessories Order Over $250 only when you use Dell Preferred Account! Discount will appear on Final Checkout once payment method has been selected. Expires: November 4, 2004. Save $25 off any Electronics & Accessories purchase over $250 (before tax and shipping) when you purchase online using the Dell Preferred Account as your payment option with approved credit.

The coupon only shows up after you select payment method, just before your final order confirmation. I just tried it and it does stack with the current 10% off accessories.

So on the 9800 it's currently $359 -$25 = $334 before tax. Then minus $100 install fee, makes it $234 before tax. Shipping is currently free too.

(Also get another -3% rebate if you go through Fatwallet's cashback link.)

The 10% off accessories is good until Thursday, 10/27 and the $25 off is good until either 10/30 or 11/4, so you can wait and see if there are any better promotions out next week. If not, you should probably still be able to get this deal.

Is the minus $100 install fee only applicable to XPS owners? I have a 9100 on the way and am planning on going to the 9800.

No, it should be possible for anyone who orders the 9800.

lets keep this bumpin

Since the release of the 9200, I feel its totally necessary to jump onboard and get one of these 9800 cards just to justify having the smaller screen. What coupons are crackin these days?
The same one I posted above is still available. There's an instant 10% off and another $25 off if you buy with Dell Preferred Account (although I haven't heard good things about their financing company).

I was hoping we'd see another Accessories coupon this week.

hopefully soon I really want to be able to afford this card

The current $234 before tax isn't a bad price. $200 would be better though.

I would say that this would be a proper place to post the sale of your MR9800.... lots of hungry hungry hippos out there... lol
