anyone witness ndis wireless killing sound?

Thread Starter
Has anyone experienced sound failure after installing ndiswrapper?

Does anyone have an idea where to look first to figure this out? Here are some of the details:

I just installed Mandrake 10.1 community edition on my laptop (HP Pavilion zv5034us - zv5000 series). It is the first distro I've tried that recognized my built in sound card and I was sooooooo happy to be able to finally play music on it.

The wireless still didn't work so I installed ndiswrapper and loaded it (Broadcom 54g... I used the 4301 drivers and they must work because I am on wireless now).

Anyhow, when I rebooted, the sound didn't work any more. When I rebooted again, there was some sort of confict with the ndiswrapper causing a kernel panic, and I rebooted again, and it loaded fine.

How can I tell if and where the confict is?

Thanks

You have to give more details. What version of NDISWrapper? What kernel?

Also post parts of your logs (in /var) which might provide a clue as to what is going on.

Sounds like an IRQ issue to me. You will need to post up what these guys have asked for to help you out any better.
