NO kylek u dumb****, you are not talking about the same thing, you are talking about AGP 1x 2x 4x 8x vs PCI-E 16x which it's the BW the GPU to and from the NORTHBRIDGE not the cpu, and yes as of now we are not using more then 4x of the BW.
but with-in the GPU it self it has pixel processing units and shader units and many other processor units, this is why long time ago we call a video chip, Vidoe chips it did nothing but provide info on how some code needs to be processed to the CPU, and then the CPU processor all the codes, but then it has been Renamed to GPU Graphic Processor Unit, when GeForce 3 was released. where the VIDEO CHIP can now process data on it's own then send it to the Northbridge to the CPU so it's now called the "GPU".
and with in these GPU it holds the pipelines for the pixel processor units & others for their own differnet functions. and as of now MR9700 has 4 pipeline for pixel processing, MR9800 has 8 pipeline, and it's rumored the new nvidia has 12 or maybe even 16, where all these pixel and other processor units, will processor your GAMES CODES ON the GPU before it's SEND OUT to the Northbridge then to the CPU.
so therefore the GPU build on the pci-e bus will be able to do self processing faster and quicker and get more S**T that you don't know JACK about, Done before it's even send to CPU BECASE it has more processor Units and pipelines within the GPU, which makes it FASTER!. or else can you please answer why the MR9800 is faster then the MR9700, or why the desktop GeForce 6xxx is faster then the Geforce 5xxx even when you lock the motherboard at AGP4x setting.
there is a differences when running a game at 640x480x16 running it fine vs running it at 1680x1050x32 running it fine, it's not just about FPS.
