Wow - Do Holiday Rush Orders trump Older Orders?

I've been watching the status of my Area 51M order, and decided to call Alienware this morning.

I'm currently in Phase 5. The agent I spoke to said there were several parts backordered, including the laptop's Display. He indicated that it looked like those would be in by the 'end of the month', and that my order would probably be ready to ship by about November 9th. Now, I can understand the backorder condition, but when I asked how this was possible with the Holiday Rush 5 Day offer on Area51m's he said that was for special ordered systems.

So I'm wondering if inventory is being redirected to handle orders placed via the Holiday Rush link, and therefore taking away from orders that have been in the system for a longer period of time.

Has anyone placed an order via the Rush links on the site and seen rapid progress on their fulfillment?

Well, I can order the exact same system and have it here on the 30th, if I cancel my original order(I don't need two of em). I would also save 70 dollars in the porsess, and after what they told me, my allready ordered system will not come out of phase 4 until early next week. So thats my pickle.
