My system is a sager 8890 with the 2x dvd burner / cdrw drive.
Here is my story.
I had some problems and for some reason my MBR was erased. (I am dual booting mandrake 10.1 and windows xp pro i think i broke it in mandrake)
I used the recovery console to write a new MBR, i cant get to my linux partition now, but thats not the problem i can fix that. However windows would no longer boot, so i did a repair install from the cd that i got with the machine.
Worked fine, and now i cant see my cd drive in windows, but if i put a bootable cd in the drive, it will boot from it. Its not a hardware problem, just a windows thing. I dont feel like reformatting right now, so if anyone has some suggestions then post away.
