Mitac 8050 CPU

Hi.
I just got my Mitac 8050 today.
All was well untill just a couple of minutes ago when I realised my comp was runing at 600mhz instead of the 1,6ghz it's supposed to be running at.
I started searching smoe forums and reading the manual and apperantly I was supposed to enable Geyserville support in the Bios.
Altho I can't do this since the Advanced-section in my BIOS doesn't exist, even tho it's supposed to.
I almost get a feeling that my BIOS is locked down somehow.

this is veryfrustrating since when playing games things seriously lags.

anyway, I am using omegadrivers, I have turned off powerplay and I am using WinXP pro SP1.

Is there a biosupdate or some other way to get my comp running at the speed it should be running at?

please help me.

was it plugged in to a wall socket? if not then it'll run at 600Mhz. its supposed to do that. If it was plugged in then go here:

Well none of those solved the problem, Im quite sure that the problem is in that the BIOS is locked down or that it just doesnt have the feature Activategeyserville support becaus of it being an old version or something.

on my mitac 8050, geyserville support is its own separate menu i think...i don't have an "advanced" menu either. Also, try setting the power settings to Portable/Laptop.

yeah well the thing is in the manual it has guide on how to activate geyserville support but you can't in the bios since the menue where you should do it doesn't exist :P

man...there was a guy here months ago who had a problem with geyserville...except his cpu always clocked to full power. and his bios let him change it. so it's weird that your cpu would underclock...
