Sager NP4750 cpu voltage mods and temps results Review - Page 6

Thanks for the advice NetMavrik. When I will have time I will do some more tentative testing. Right now I am using 8 x multiplier with a voltage of 1.2v. I'm not using CpuCrystalID tho, but Rightmark CPU clock utility (1603.40 ~ 1603.80Mhz - why this is variable - no clue) . No speedstepping. This speed is sufficient for my daily work (Flash, Photoshop, browsing) and while merely browsing the web the temperature of the processor lingers around 35 degrees celsius, keeping fan noise fairly quiet. I'm happy. While using photoshop it can go up to 40 degrees but that's a whole lot less than the 46 degrees or more while using the full 11x (2200 mhz).

Even when I am not changing the voltage but I am changing the speed using dynamic management (CrystalCPUID or CPU Rightmark) the notebook will lockup without exception. This far I have not been able to find a solution for this (tried using both speedstepping utils with- and without the amd processor driver - to no avail).

I'm just getting into this Crystal CPID thing, so I'll figure out what does what then post settings if I find anything useful.

There is a new version of Crystal CPUID out with support for x64.

Need your advice on my 4750

Dear NetMavrik

I have been reading all your posts related to the overheating problem of the NP4750.

Here is my situation
I just got my 4750 (AMD Athlon™ 64 3400+ Processor) out of the box, and the computer heats up extremly. This was the first time I used it.

It was so hot that I can not have my writs over the board because it was very unconfortable.

On the other hand I wrote in this forum that some of the reasons that could lead to an overheating would be that the fans are not line up.

So here is where I ask you for an advice
Since my 4750 is still into the 30 days guarantee (this not mean that I want to get rid off it, it was just meant to give you and idea how recently i got it)
should I returned just to make sure that the fans are not the problem and after that try with your settings discoveries, or should I give the settings the first shot?

What do you think?

Thansk and I will be waiting for your replay

(sorry for my short english since I am from Panama (central america))
