New NP3790 drivers - Page 6

Here are the instructions that I got from the Sager Tech Support:

*******
Hi Dan, the last release of the BIOS file is attached.

Please download the attached file 379bv207s2.zip.
Unzip the file to your hard drive.

The file 379bv207s2.iso is the image of a bootable disk with all the files
for updating the system BIOS.

Burn the 379bv207s2.iso to a CDR or CDRW disc.

Use the disc to boot the computer to flash the system BIOS.

After the system bios flashed, please load the default settings in the CMOS
setup.

If you do not know how to burn an image file to CDR disc, please let me
know.

Ok.. that helps a lot, actually, but now, where do I get that *.iso from? The download link from the first page in this thread links to something else. I have a *.bin file, but don't know if that's supposed to be the bootable image. If it is, where's the *.cue file that has to go with it? I mean, I can create a *.cue file to suit the *.bin, that's not the problem.. the question is.. is that what the *.bin file is? The bootable image? Because I don't have a 379b207s2.iso!

Thanks

If you want, PM me your email address and I'll forward you that email. I'm using the 2.07s2 BIOS ... I'm not using the 2.08 BIOS that was listed here.

Why are you not using the latest one? I'll PM you, thanks.

Nec 6500a Firmware Files

Just in case you might be looking for firmware upgrades. This link takes you to a page that has very interesting modded firmwares: http://www.micheldeboer.nl/firmware/6500.html
Of course, this is not for the conservatives out there, try at your own risk and please post your results. Especially of interest is what media works for you and if you were able to take advantage of the bitsetting (ie. NEC 6500A 2.23 with Riplock removed, RPC1 and bitsetting (Liggy))

alright - i did a clean install of the new 5.13 catalysts - and the bitches ain't workin'. when i initially installed the new driver and the catalyst control center, everything was working fine - when i restart, however, it's like i'm in vga mode - everything's huge and ugly. i can change back to 1680X1200 via the ati tray icon, but when i open up the control center i have no options in the window on the left - just "welcome" and "displays manager." every time i restart i have to go through the same deal. i've tried re-installing them, and it'll be working fine until i restart.

has anyone else had issues with the 5.13s?

Vid Drivers

I have had similar problems with updating my video driver. In fact the only driver i could get to work with my 3790 other then the driver on sagers site is A DNA 3 9 5.4 . I would just get the same problem your having or NO video at all after boot up.

Do any of you guys use the catalysts, or do you all use DNA or Omega drivers? I'm running the Cat. 5.13, and it runs BF2 pretty well - save for one thing. When I shut down BF2, my display is in 1680X1024, rather than 1680X1050. I'm considering trying out the 6.1, but I just want to know if enybody else has had a similar issue, small is it may be. Previous to updating to the 5.13 I'd been using I believe the 5.7 Cats and never had this problem.

hi,

same problem with graphics drivers as you guys
i was so happy when ati released a driver for our notebook-chipset...

i need the 1368x720 resolution for my lcd-tv.
any of you guys got a vga-driver working which gives me this resolution?
thanks for any help!

bigbear: You should try that question here as i think there is a way to add resolutions to the drivers... anyway, are you using modded drivers already?
