Talk about crippled, the iPod has a dual processing system, but SMP blows and the processors which are 90MHz processors, are underclocked to a measly 44 or 45MHz...the iPod really isn't that great if you can't add a bit of functionality and "overclock" it a bit. The only solution I found to this was the iPod-Linux project over at sourceforge. After porting Linux to my iPod, I was somewhat satisfied. Then the Archos AV400 series came out, and I damn near threw my iPod away. I'm waiting on an iPod with an OLED display, better firmware, and better processor.
