Those who have SP2/know about... HELP NEEDED

I have Windows XP SP2 and i have a problem... wondering if you all could assist me in trying to find a solution.

My Prob: I manually set windows virtual memory (paging file size) on my C:/ drive to 2GB, but after a few days it went wacko and is now saying the allocated size is 1534. I've tried (going through Windows system properties, the advanced tab, performance options, to the virtual memory button) selecting no paging file, rebooting, and the trying to set it at 2gb again with no luck. Also tried just changing it to be bigger or smaller but nothing works.

I'm having a big head ache, do you all have any comments, suggestions, etc??? Thanks in advance

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management

the value for PagingFiles should be the location of the paging file and name, followed by the minimum and maximum size of the page file.

The following would give you a 2 gig page file on c: called pagefile.sys:

C:\pagefile.sys 2048 2048

if there are no numbers following the name, then it should be system managed.

Check that registry value and let me know what you have.

first, thanks for answering my post...
second in the registry value you pointed me to, it says 2000 2000, but in the system information it shows 1534 across all drives... what's the right one?

2Gb virtual memory is an awful lot of virtual memory! What do you need that for? Are you into 3D or video rendering?
