Can't save jpegs, only lets me save as bitmap...help!

Whenever I try to save jpeg images off of websites, it only lets me save them as bitmap images. Does anyone know why this is? Please help!

This is usually caused by full Cache. Try clearing your temporary internet files, cookies, history.

If this doesn't work, try dragging the image to your desktop. Click-hold the image and drag over.

or once you save it to your hard drive as a bitmap, you can open them in paint and save them as a jpeg from there

I have experienced this too, but it happened to me right after I got service pack2

It's the cache. It's happened to me many times. Go to Internet Explorer. Then go to "Tools", "Internet Options...". Where it says "Temporary Internet Files" click "Delete Files...". It can take quite a while so be patient. It will look like Internet Explorer has crashed but just give it time, if it is because your cache is full it will take a while.

Set your cache between 50-200mb. nothing more.

Also run windows update as there was a slight error in IE that had this. But i think that was in SP1.
