Acer 3201XCI question

post #1 of 7
Thread Starter
Can anyone tell me the definitive weight with optical drive and battery of the Acer 3201xci . Acers website and a couple others say 4.8 lbs and others say 6.6 lbs.

Am I correct in assuming the Acer's weight at 4.8 is without optical drive and battery?

If anyone has this Acer model or know the answer, please let me know.
Thanks

Sweet, thanks for the reply!

Two more questions,
1.Is the 3201 with the 715 processor a Banias or Dothan?
I noticed it comes standard with the 715, I couldn't find it anywhere where I could configure it.

2. Does it come with blue tooth, or just support it. I read another post where the 4501 supports it, and has the bluetooth button, but will only accept an externa; bluetooth module.

715=Dothan 1.5GHz

3201 shipping in the U.S. have bluetooth built-in. There's been report in a few case that the driver was not install but that's simple to take care of.

There was a lot of debate months ago about this on notebookreview.com and I emailed newegg and they corrected the weight to be 4.8. A guy from Asia confirmed the weight. I bought the notebook and took it to a ups store to be weighed and it came in at 5.4 lbs. Go figure. I have the cd-rw/dvd rom version. I think the US version weighs more than the asian version. However 5.4 is a lot better than 6.8!!!!
