And yes, it's a good deal. I had been waiting for the Sager 9860, but the extreme price difference for a machine with the same 3.0 or 3.2GHz processor but different GPU made it impossible to pass up this deal. I figure, with the money saved, I can afford to buy another notebook in less than 6 months, when there should be some new A64 PCI-E machines and next-generation P-M notebooks to choose from, in addition to more P4s. And by then, the prices will have come down a bit on notebooks with the Geforce Go 6800 (and ATI's Mobility X800).
How do you like your syste?

The 9100's are selling as fast as Dell can list them in the outlet.. just missed a 3.0 128mb 1gig ram 884.00 WSXGA..for that price i might would give up on the sager.. if nothing else i should be able to make a profit off of it lol

Does installing the MR9800 void your warranty? Dell is telling me it does..
if you buy it from dell, they will install it for ya at ur home which will still keep your warranty.

They'd better put the 15.4" back in an 8600-type machine, not the XPS... it'll royally get me mad if I can't buy another Dell.

no it does NOT

any Dell part installed has the warranty of the CPU by default, or 90 days, whichever is longer.

what is not covered is any damage you do to the laptop during the install

I seem to be the only one whose new machine hasn't arrived yet. I ordered with everyone else on the 19th, but it just went into the "Boxing" stage today. It's supposed to ship out by Nov. 1, so I might not get it until next week.

How about the 17"er are they gonna capitalize on that for other models? or just beef up the 9200 later on?

If thats not too much to ask
