I've configured RealVNC on my brother's PC so he can access it remotely when he travels. All of a sudden we can't connect to it. Someone is there now helping me troubleshoot and I am totally baffled.
-His external IP (24.5.66.57) does not respond to ping requests but I can remote admin his router
-The person there can surf the web, ping me, and connect to my RealVNC server
-His router firmware has been updated and the router reset, port forwarding is in place, Windows Internet Connection Firewall is disabled
-The RealVNC Java server on port 5800 is also not responding
It really feels like port 5900 (default RealVNC port) is being blocked by the ISP--I'm waiting for a Comcast rep on live chat now. Wondering if anyone else has any suggestions?
