The title says it all, which one do you guys recommend? I never saw them personally, but looking at the pictures, the Acer one“s looks nicer.

Any Pros and Cons about them?

I'll be using them for Internet, MS Office, light gaming, DVD playback, MP3s.

Is the Acer TM3201XCi much lighter and smaller then the other two?

How big of a deal is warranty for you? Usualy itll be harder to get as good of a warranty as what you can get on the dell, on those Acers.

For what you want your notebook... all 3 will do fine, and it is only a matter of preferences in aesthetics, weight, build quality, etc.

Acer do provide their own extended warranty (including accidental damage protection) that can be purchase thru the vendor or directly from Acer.

OK a basic breakdown.

Dell I8600, oldest chassis design of the bunch. also the heavier and bulkier of the bunch. The MR9600 graphic card while having 128MB is not really as fast as the MR9700 64MB in the Acer. Dell also only offer DVD+R/RW burner at extra cost while Acer offers DVD +/- Burner as standard. The only drawback on the Acer is the slow 4200rpm that they use but that just means that boot/startup will be just a bit slower.

As to the Acer, the biggest difference is the screen, The 4501 is 15.4" widescreen while the 3201 is 14.1 standard 4x3. The 3201 one of the few laptops that offer MR9700 and still comes in under 5lbs (other being the expensive Sony S270). The 4501 being 6.6lbs does offer a bigger screen and a bit more battery life (4-5 hours) so it's more a personal preference. If you have to carry it around a lot, then the 3201 will be better.

In fact, I was looking for a store in NY, New York so I can see the Acer 3201 and 4501 to compare them in person.

That would be tougher. You may need to post a question as to who have a good selection of Acer on display in your area or check Acer's site and see if they have any retailer in you region.

P.S. worst case, ask forum members to post photos of their Acer for you. Someone just posted a bunch of pictures of the 4501
