i need help. i just got my nc6000 and i just love it. i already have 512mb pc2700 ram installed and now when i try tio put in another 512mb ram which is pc2100, the notebook just doesnt start. i am sure it is the 2nd ram problem because when i unplug it, the computer works normally. can anyone help me with this. what and how can i make he computer work with both RAMs - the original 512mb pc2700 and another one 512mb pc2100.

May be the memory modules are incompatible with each other?

I don't think so. Try PC 2700 memory, with the following specs:

PC-2700 (DDR333) 200-pin SODIMM (non-parity = non-ECC, CL 2.5)

For example, Kingston Value RAM 512 MB:

Kingston Value RAM KVR333X64SC25/512

It worked fine in my bro's HP nw8000, which uses the same chipset as nc6000.

I was under the impression that you coulndt use different speed RAM in the same system? As in, they all have to be either pc2100 or pc2700?
