AW turn out to tell truth!!! (but dont stock well!)

*drum role*

Well it turns out they were NOT lying.

Hundreds of disgruntled Alienware Desktop purchasers are currently complaining due to the fact that they have run short of an important item for all PC's. The SATA cables. *shock*

The good news is that these will be in on thursday. From there my PC would go to stage 9, and be ready for build.

However the bad news. This is my main question for all of you. The FX-55 is now available to AWuk. I am currently buying a FX-53 in my new PC. If I upgrade now, I will be sent to the end of the que for PC's. They have told me that this que will last 3 weeks + which will make my total wait over 87 days. (see bottem for current specs)

So... is it worth it? Can someone explain to me what's the jump in processor power, and will I see a huge improvement in games etc?

Any and all help is much apprecieted. Thx

Man, thats the prob with buying a PC. You can always second guess your purchase. I decided to wait until I saw the FX-55. I ordered but now, with AMD SLI mobo's around the corner, I know that before my PC ships, they will be available on Alienwares site. If I wait, and push shipping, next gen hard drives, or something else will be coming down the pipe. Gotta cut the cord some time, and just be satisfied with what you got. My opinion anyway.

If you do change the configuration and opt for the FX-55 then you cannot say that your order has taken 0ver 80 days. The moment you start your order over you are on day one. (even though you made the monumental decision to order an Alienware over 80 days ago) There have been a number of people that have changed the configuration of the original order and then went on to complain about the time it took to get the system built. New members to this forum only see this complaint as a real issue that Alienware might have with taking forever to have a system built and not an issue of a person starting the whole build process over again. The nature of the beast will never change. Everything will always be better, faster...tomorrow. Have you checked if there has been a change in the pricing of your system? If the cost has gone down then you might have some extra cash to spend on your Alienware.

anyways, the cost was never a huge problem tbh, and iv all togetha saved £50 from prices going down etc.

However its now thursday, and I realised how much I want to see it go to phase 9, so I havnt changed anything after all. Hopefully my new pc will be able to bash past most games tday as it is
