Sorry to hear about your hinge cover . It is starting to look more and more like another :epidemic".

For the most part, they are not replacing the LCD, only the bezel. There have been a few isolated cases where the entire LCD has been replaced on a few of our posters machines though.

Ohh ok.. so if they replace the bezel they will put a non defective one ?

Or i better change it for the compaq R3340US ?

They major problem is that this lap is a gift for a person in Mexico so if the problem appear again it will be a terrible history, send it again to LA, then to Gateway, then to LA, then to mexico. damnnn !!!

If 3d is a concern, I would exchange it for the Compaq. As far as "will it crack again?", I don't know. After the debacle with the m68xx series, I would have thought Arima would have fixed the issue, but apparently they did not.

Just a confirmation that I have experienced the Gateway 7405GX hinge cracking problem on a laptop that's about three weeks old, and has been treated like gold dust.
