Wow! Free processor upgrade on my 8600!!!

When I ordered my 8600, I kept the standard 1.5 Pentium M. Well, I just noticed a moment ago that I have the 1.6 installed!!!

I noticed after the big sale on the 19th that when specing out an 8600, only the 1.4 or 1.6 were available... I wonder if they just didn't have any 1.5 left anymore?

Cool!

so the whiners who keep on saying "OMG OMG I HATE DELL THEY SAY THEY ARE SHIPPING MY NOTEBOOK IN 2 WEEKS" are actually getting a better deal than us...

i guess whiners win, in this case at least. whiners should never win.

nah, I think he is talking about the group of people that are complaining about slow turn-around after getting $750 off of their purchase. I suppose he just figured that all of them would read this thread.

afobisme So we people who have been cheated out of things are plain *braindead* whiners to you huh? What I would love to say to would not be allowed on this forum! Dell has cheated me out of a manual, a adapter and plug for me to use the unit, overnight *standard* on a friday so I would receive it on a monday, you must pay extra for overnight Saturday delivery, I am out that money.

So in a nice way i would like to keep quiet and forget about calling people who have lost money time or any other thing from being called a whiner from you, you showing us that you can't act as a adult but only as a child. The pshychological term for this is "Peter Pan Complex" it's used by people who don't want to grow up and act responsively. There are a number of Psychitrists that would be happy to talk to you about the *true* psychological condinition and help you conform to the society, if not they can help you spend some time at a place they will help no matter what you say.

I don't think they'll step it up that far!

Honestly, it's really cool to get just a little easter egg like this... just a bit faster than what I had ordered. Very cool.

Same here.. got my 8600 today and noticed a 1.60GHz instead. Small consolation for 2 dead pixels... dammit.
Wow! I'm hoping I got a CPU upgrade too. Laptop shipped today (10/26) and I'm one of the $750 coupon groupie.

did you people who got the 1.6 receive the "mystery" $16 discount? im hoping that the discount was a consellation for those who got the 1.5 ghz... then things would be more fair.

no sorry.. didn't mean you. just mean a lot of people i see on fatwallet.. some guy even complained that his stickers weren't aligned. someone needs to smack him silly. there was another guy on this forum, who was sent an adapter but no cord.. and he raises hell and throws a big fit.

if you are like xarthan and say "i should call dell and complain" i don't see that as complaining. i see complaining as whiners who are irrational. if dell makes a mistake (everyone expects dell to be perfect), don't raise hell here on the forums like a whiney bitch - just call dell and tell them whats up. they usually give you the benefit of the doubt. and the god damn people who complain that their notebooks aren't finished, yet their scheduled shipment date is 1 month from now.. comon, dell has already let you know that the notebook will come in a month, why do you keep letting everyone know that you are infuriated?

wow, for a guy who is insulting me, i laugh @ your 6th grade grammar. ironically you say im the child.

yeah i think you're a "whiney susan" ... i like to define a "whiney susan" as a man who has learned annoying complaining traits from his mother, or some other woman. he likes to cry when he's not sent a cable; he likes to unreasonably blame things on firms. morever, he's sensitive, just like a "susan" would be. another factor about "whiney susies" is they assume things. i never referred to you.

GOD... so they didn't send you a cable. im sure they will replace it - since dell seems to give a lot of "benefit of the doubt." so you'll have to wait a few days - grow up and take it like a man, susie. WOW they gave you no manual.. who even reads that bs? it's better to look up info online anyways. AND overnight shipping? that's total BS, they would never require you to pay overnight shipping fees, not that i heard of. maybe you were a little anxious and paid a little extra for an early delivery and didn't get it on time. knowing you, you'd blame not getting to you on time on dell. HELLO stop pointing the finger at dell every time you get a problem - the reason why it got to you on monday was probably due to UPS shipping.

Those with a free 1.6GHz upgrade also got small mystery discounts during checkout. The exact amount varied according to your final purchase price though, but usually in the teens.
