The is the BETA version of the work that me and DDDa have done on the Notebook and Respective ODM Models (BETA) file

Notebook And Respective ODM (BETA)
Thread for News - DDDa

2005 Jan 14: <<<<<<<========

There is a new file for download.

Changes and alerts:

- 9860 still missing

- We need someone to look at the Uniwill models. I'm not sure if all models are correct (259IA, 258KAO...).

2004 Nov 20:

There is a new file for download. Click here.

Known Issues:

- Not all the models filled with ODMs. This is expected. Another version, sorted by the ODM model will be available sometime. So, all notebooks will have the ODM model name. However, the notebooks that don't have a known ODM model won't be present on that version.

- Missing Sager 9860 odm model at rjtech page. If someone already knows, please post it.

- This is an XLS file. If you can't open these files, you can still check the HTML version of it by clicking here.

What we want to someone look at:

- If things match correctly (processor, graphics, reviews... and, most important, the ODM name).

Are you guys planning on leaving it in that format? Was any thought given to including pictures, something like what TitanMan did?

nah, as we said its just a beta... probably going to change it though... treat this as a barebones notebook, the extra "frills" will come later

Where does Dell, IBM, Toshiba, etc fit in?

To be honest, we just couldn't find the ODMs for them (not just the ODM, but the model, too). We had hints, like the company, but not the model. What's the point of putting a notebook just to come here and say: "see? we made a huge list" ? Don't you think? We've tried, for now, put the ones we really know about it or, at least, could find.

We even put a Dell table, but since we coudn't find them, we removed for now. However, I must say again: we are still interested on putting more things, models and also pictures.

And thank all you for the comments and the support,
David.

Good point... didn't think of that. Stu over at Dell Forums might have a good idea of who makes what models from which models.

Hmm.. What happened to the original thread where people submitted links for some of these odm's... It was a sticky but i guess not anymore it was very useful but I can't find it after a long search. =(

You mean this one?

http://notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=22187
post #14 of 55
No. The one I'm looking for is more recent. It was the thread that asked ppl to submit links, etc. to help compile the odm list... There was a lot of good links on that thread. It "was" a sticky I believe but not anymore...

This entry is incorrect:

15.4 WXGA+Model: m:860ODM: EMachines M680AMD Athlon 64 DTR - 3000 (1.8Ghz), 3200 (2.0GHz), 3400 (2.2GHz), 3700 (2.4GHz)

eMachines isn't the ODM, the ODM is the Arima W730-K8. all the eMachines M6800s use that same design though, as well as the Gateway 7405GX.

Hello everyone. My name is Chris. I'm new to the forum so excuse me if I make a mistake or something. I just thought I'd add a little bit of info to the thread. I currently use a Dell i8100 laptop and I believe it is made by Compal b/c on a few websites that sell old parts has one listed as:
Part # 1K859 Assembly, Base (Assembly or Group), Bottom, I8100K, COMPAL, V2.
So I'm assuming that the i8100 is made by Compal. I also know that several of the Lattitude series notebooks were made by Quanta, although I do not know specifically which ones were.

I'm currently waiting for my new T42 from IBM (2-4 week delay) which should be here in about 2-3 weeks so I will let you know how that goes. Well, just thought I'd add some info.

kind regards,
Chris

P.S. Great forum everyone's got going here. Hope I can be of more assistance. Thanks.

Hello Chris,

I'm very happy for that information you posted. Also, it's not everyday that we see a new user (2 posts) already adding more info here. Normally, we all ask tons of questions first (myself included).

The greatest problem here is not exactly to know the manufacturer (even if this is a start, of course), but also the model, and this is when things get hard to find. Anyway, if you find any new information, post here.

And yes, you can find tons of info on this forum...

DDDa.

Hi everyone,

I need to put pictures of the notebooks on this list. Although I can go to some place on the net and 'use' the pictures, I would prefer to use the pictures from the reviews on this site. However, to do so, I need the approval of those who have the pictures. I'm interested on any model, but I would prefer the computers on the list.

If you're interested, PM me. You will also have your name on the credits...

Hey guys the entry for the Cyperpower S4 Series is not correct anymore.

The S4-3000 is not a AOpen anymore. I guess it's a Mitac 8050 but I'm not so sure about that. It also has now a 256 MB GFX card.
No, it's not the Mitac 8050. I have one.

This is the Cyberpower:
