Keyboard on the screen

I remember reading about someone having little indentations on the screen of their sager. I was wondering what could be done to fix this. What could you put between the screen and the keyboard so it wouldn't leave these indentations or marks on the screen. It may be grease but I'm thinking it could be the keys.

any thoughts?

I use a single folded mens hand kerchief with my Dell 8200.

It has dramatically cut down on those marks. I've been using it since I had the screen replaced (due to manufacturing defect - top 1 inch of screen had a faded "watermark" look).

I can't remember who manufactures them, but I've seen small silicon feet which you can put around the screen of a laptop to maintain good separation between the screen and the keyboard... they also make the lappy very sturdy when closed. I'll go look for them.

EDIT: I forgot, these things are made specifically for PowerBooks.

Maybe they would still work. Anyone?

I also saw someone who had a protective screen on his Sony (just like a big screen TV)... He couldn't tell me where he had his.

I just didn't remove the clear plastic sheet that came with my sager, it gets scratched instead

But those keys are way too high, they need to engineer a way for the keys to go down as you shut the case.

I researched solutions on the net and basically you get two kinds of protectors: clear plastic sheet and leather covers for the keyboard.

Then I thought about this... I bought a chamois cloth for cheap and cut it so it fit on the keyboard & touchpad. VoilĂ , no more dirty spots on the screen.

This is not a new idea (read previous post about the hankerchief).

i think you are referring to my post regarding the keyprints on the screen. someone suggested that it was my greasy fingers leaving residue and they were right. i've eleviated the proplem by removing the aunt jemima castor oil from my diet.
