Needs advice on purchasing

I'm thinking about purchasing a laptop to do my MBA class work. Nothing fancy, maybe Internet capability, but I'm nor sure if I could connect at work (in a hospital). I think a CD burner would be a nice feature. Looking on Ebay but I feel lost. What about battery power? Is that a huge concern? Thanks for everyone's input.

You will get 10x the responses in Notebook General (and Sager General).

Well you say you are doing class work, and would like to work on the move. So battery life must be a concern for you. With a Pentium 4 you could hope for two hours doing light work, with an AMD 64 maybe three hours, and with a Pentium M you could get five hours.

And to save you grief... I suggest you do not buy from E-Bay. There are many great resellers that will offer you great prices.

I would suggest the Sager 3790, but I don't know how much gaming/intensive application you are going to be doing. If you are in the medium-high range I would suggest the 3790. Otherwise a Pentium 3 system or maybe an ultraportable may be better for you.
