whats confusing is that it stretched the screen on 2 resolutions (800x600 and 1024x768) for me, but refuses to do so for any other res.

i was able to resize the screen on both my old 5670 uxga and 3790 wsxga+
Do you mean in device manager?

In Device Manager, Monitor shows two "Default Monitor's" and one "Plug and Play Monitor". I have tried uninstalling all and rescanning for changes, but all were added.

is this a dead end, or has anyone been able to stretch a lower resolution yet?

not yet im just waiting for new drivers... i wish there was a way to directly inform ati of this problem.

i installed the new omega drivers, but that doesnt solve the problem. It does include the options for other resolutions, but doesnt stretch to fill up the screen. It says to "uncheck" the use DDC information, to resolve the issue, but that option is not there for laptops.

I am trying to get in contact with Sager today to see if I can swap it out for a different screen. I just got mine friday via UPS, needless to say I am quite disapointed. Not only will it not properly run my professional software, but it wont run WoW or Source properly, the only two games I play.

I'll post here the second I get word back from Sager and tell y'all what their solution is.

I am sending mine back for a full refund. The sager factory customer service was pretty good, and they said there was going to be no driver update to fix this problem. Good luck guys!

1680x1050

found this explanation on the dell forums
can someone please verify this

The answer to the original post appears to
be 'you can't'
The ATI 9700 appears to suffer from the same
problem as 9600 and rest of the Radeon cards.
Basically the only resolution it can stretch
in proportion to 1920x1200 on the WUXGA screen
is 1280x800.
This has been discussed in another topic and no response
from Dell :

mine SAID it could stretch to 1280x800, but it would scale and crop it wrong.

But yea, thats essentially what Sager said to me over the phone, which is why they are giving me a refund.
