Maximum speed of Truemobile 1300 card?

Hi,

I'm currently using a Dell Truemobile 1300 in my 9100 along with a (54g?) router and a 512k broadband connection. My question: Which parts of my setup would have to be changed to make full use of a 1024k connection? (Also, does nitro g affect this in any way?)

Thanks

The 1300 supports 802.11 b and g, so the max theoretical speed is 54mb/sec.

However, if all you're doing is connecting to the internet, and your connection speed is 512k, you won't see any speed difference between the card running a 802.11b (11mb/sec) and g - since both are capabable of substantially more throughput than your inet connection can fill. In other words, your bottleneck is your connection to the internet, not the connection between the computer and router.

The 802.11g standard is quite useful for transfers between computers on a local area network. Unless you've got a massive pipe to the internet, though - you won't exceed the capabilities of the 802.11b standard.
