I'm assuming the vertical box with the blue light is an external HD? if so, who makes it (or the enclosure at least)?

looks like a zip drive or an lacie firewire drive

California Drives makes that particular one, but i purchased my most recent "Ice" enlcosure from Other World Computing, don't be scared away from their mac centric products, for the enclosure is not platform dependent. i find their prices and support to be great.

My 2100th Post
...and it's to comment on gr8gatzby's laptop... oi vey!

I like the self-loathing decal thing you have going on... sort of an Eminem/Kid Rock/Marilyn Manson-type of thing.

Hey, was the one that asked for your bald head in marriage good looking or skanky? Some of those cyber-cafe chicks can be down-right fuggly.

I don't take my machine out in public because I am attached (literally) to my 4.1 speaker setup.

I did have an idea once (really!) to use it in my car and hook up the sound through my car's sound system... then just let the car run/charge the lappy and play BF1942 via WiFi...

Then I realized I have too much $h!t to do and my wife and kids wouldn't give me 2 seconds of "personal time" out playing games in the car...

Oh well, what a crappy 2100th post.

Kinda ironic...

All those wild stickers, and a lonely "Powered by Red Hat Linux" in the corner

Nice, I bought the one by ADS Technologies. It is gray and black, very nice case. It has a green LED on the front so I was thinking of swapping it myself with a blue one. =)

What is Lindows like? I recall seeing it when they were still working on it (that is I saw websites talking about it) yet I have never really seen what it is like. Is it good? Is it more like windows than other linux OSes?

it's kind of like os/2 before bill gates worked on it, before the OS and before the 2 came about, circa 1983.5
post #15 of 35
Lol, 1983.5? are you sure it's not 1983.52? Or maybe even 1983.59

Anyway, I like Gentoo the best, you get to fiddle around with your configuration a lot more.

Keyboard dude !!!

Hey gr8gatzby are you using a MAC KEYBOARD ?

If yes, did you try your own drivers ? does the keyboard works the same way ???

Thanx

it certainly is an apple keyboard...imho, the best keyboard on the market. and it works automagically, no drivers needed. only issue is reprogramming my fingers for that command key, it's the alt key in winbl0ws.
