Best vid chip (9700 or 5700?)

i study informatics and i need a new laptop but i liek games aswell:P.
I wanna know which ship is better? the ati 9700 64/128 mb oe the nvidia 5700 go. Also does both chips have their own vid memory of do they use the ram?

I don't know enough about the GeForce to compare, but the ATi is a good card, and it uses it's own memory.

both cards have their own memory. The real diffrence is what are you going to use it for. Nvidia excells in OpenGL while ATI is good in DX9.

If you want it for games, you want the ATI 9700 over the Go5700. If you want it to be used for graphics applications that use OpenGL, the Go5700 will be better for that.
