Thread Starter
Hey guys,
Know this is a notebook forum, but....
My Monitor died yesterday and I need to get a new one, was thinking of going with a lcd flat panel.
I was going to check out some different ones but I really dont know what i should be looking for.
Can you give me some things that I should be looking for in the specs. I want a 17 inch or 19 inch
I found a samsung 17 syncmaster 712n at bestbuy for 329.00 after rebates. Is this a good one?
Also is there any review sites that does comparisons/reviews on them.?

Thanks for the help

Wow... quite a time I don't look at desktop LCDs. I will try.

Basically, look for viewing angles (recent desktop LCDs are much better than old ones). Also, take a look at the inputs and since you will be spending some amount of money, see if it comes with digital input (DVI). I think that today most high quality (17in and up) will have it anyway.

About the brand, I've seen billions of Samsung Syncmasters (CRTs, however) operating. Never, ever, gave less than 10 for its quality. I really like Syncmasters, specially the CRTs (comparing to other CRTs, obviously). Don't think you can go wrong with them.

Since I told I didn't research lately, can't tell about price.
