Should I just wait for the 64 bit processor or will 64 bit have little effect on future gaming and apps?

i had a 286. it had a 12mhz processor if i remember correctly and 4 meg hard drive. at the time i had EGA graphics. It rocked. When I upgraded that to a 486 we actually got an optical drive and got rid of the 5.25 floppy. We also upped the graphics to a VGA. Thats what I first played Doom 1 and Doom 2 on.
