I am trying to connect my Dell Inspiron 1100 to a 50" Plasma TV so that I can show presentations to a group of people. I have tried both VGA and S-Video connections and I get a slight flicker that shows up on the TV. This 'flicker' shows up as horizontal lines throughout the display. I have changed the resolution, refresh rate, etc. and have had no luck. Can someone please point me in the right direction!? Thanks!

What I believe you need is a component adapter, they sell for aound $89 dollars there function is to take s-video and out to the 3 RCA phono jacks for input to your highest resolution analog video source. I use http://www.bettercables.com/becasisereco.html *Reference* a bit better than the cheaper lain silver serpent cabels out to HDTV.
Did you check if your Plasma is HDTV Ready or HDTV 'Built In', I believe your either sending a hi def signal to no TV tuner TV or what I described above. Go check it out with Toms Hardware from a google search, although this a note book you have but it s a wrong forum for the answer your seeking. AVS members could answer that one on it's HTPC forum (Home Theater Personal Computer). Plasma are just as easy to burn a screen image into it, they're expensive to bring back the R & D money spent to develope the technoligy.
I hope this helps you I have been into Home Theater since 1994 when I started to read and became a subscriber to their monthly magazine.
