What is the best program to change the temps at which my fans come on? My fan comes on at 57-58 C, is it ok to up that to at least 60 or so, so that my fans don't come on so often. Thanks.

Hey rotel, no I don't have the Asus - this was actually the one I wanted but saw that dell had $750 sale and I jumped on it because I didn't have enough for the Asus. I have a Inspiron 8600 P-M 1.6 1 Gig 40GB, etc. I haven't found out any that fixes this, might have to purchase a laptop cooler or something.

Supposedly you can control the fans in the 8600 series manually or via temperature. Wish it worked on mine!

Yeah I did, wouldn't do what I wanted it to do. Plus it was making my system slower. Then I uninstalled it and its faster, but still a bit of an issue for my fan.
