4750's and gaming

Hey guys -
I was wondering what settings you use (detail, resolution, etc) with games like doom 3, call of duty, battlefield vietnam and cs:source. I know the 4750 is very powerful for mobile gaming but I also know that these games are meant for very powerful computers/desktops. Also, I know the 4750 is widescreen... do you play games in a window? And if you, say, play at 800x600 and then enable fullscreen, what would happen? (would the picture stretch to match the screen/would there be black bars on the sides?) Thanks. Anything you else want to add with your experience with the 4750 and gaming would be appreciated.

It will handle Doom3 pretty well, no worse than any other currently available laptop (except that dang Dell 9100/XPS) I typically get FPS in the 30s @ 1280*800 and High settings. Unless I am in certain areas with lots of monters (then it jumps down to the teens) Havent played COD yet, nor actually any of the others. I always play my games widescreen. Sometimes they are stretched, but really, stretched games arent that bad really. I dont mind them.

The 17 in really helps you get immersed in the game.

on cs source at 1280x800 with high settings, i get around 60-100 fps. at 1650x1050 I get around 20-40 fps. I haven't tested doom3 recently with the latest omega driver yet though.

i got my 4750 on Monday and I love it. very impressed with how it runs far cry. but i noticed on doom 3 that the people don't look that great. i mean i just started a new game and noticed the soldiers and scientists are sorta choppy looking around the edges of them. i have the newest omega's. is this just how it is since doom 3 was made more for nvidia cards? i mean i play it on my desktop that has a crappier nvidia and it actually looks pretty good. just wondering since someone else brought up doom 3 and how the 4750 runs it. thanks.

On MOHAA I play max everything. BF1942 and vietnam i play at 1400x1050 and middle details. Farcry...i don't remember i uninstalled it after i beat it. In doom 3 1280x800 (i think) and mid details. UT2k4 at 1680x1050 at middle details. All of those play at acceptable frame rates.
