I recently purchased a 4790-V and am thrilled with the unit.

However I have 2 problems which I would like to know if anyone else has seen. Sager wants me to ship the unit back, but I would like to get as much info as I can before I do that so they have as much detail to work with as possible.

1) When I start the laptop up, the screen doesn't come on on the first boot (the screen isn't lit so I can't see at what point it might be getting to in its boot process). If I shut it off and start it back up it boots fine. This doesn't happen every time I boot it, but probably at least 75-80% of the time.

Initially I thought it was only doing it when I had something plugged into the USB port, but that doesn't appear to be the case, I think I was booting the first time with a USB device plugged in, failing, then unplugging the USB and succeeding, leading me to believe it was related to the USB. It does seem to behave the same with or without a device plugged in. Once it boots up the second time it runs great.

2) I use a Microsoft MN-520 wirless card plugged into the PCMCIA slot. This worked like a champ on my Dell Inspiron 7000. When I use it on my Sager it craps out after about 10-15 minutes. I can unplug it and plug it back in and that seems to kick start it up again, but it dies again after a few minutes. Plugging into the Ethernet jack works fine. I am guessing that either the PCMCIA slot is not working right (I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver for that a couple of times so I think it's hardware-related) or possibly it is heat related. The top of the laptop right above where the PCMCIA slot is does get pretty warm. That would explain why it works for a while before dying.

Again, I am not trying to dodge sending it back, I will be doing that next week sometime, I ama just trying to get as much input as I can before doing so.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
