The processor is very fast, but...

the graphics card is killing the notebook. Imagine the computer as a six-lane road. This graphics card will act like a sector of a common two-lane road between city A and city B. Doesn't matter if 99.9% of the road is 6-lane. The 1% will slow the traffic enough already. Add that to the 4200 rpm drive and you got a useless processor, unless you don't game at all. Only compile stuff and use math programs. The accessories are good, but the heart of the notebook is not that much. 256mb, 4200 rpm drive and Go 440 for 1946 seems too much for me.

hope it helps.

I agree with DDDa. When I first started looking for a lappy I looked at the HP with the AMD also, but like DDDa said, that graphics card is death. There was no way I'd ever be able to buy that thing. What really sucks is that HP has what I want (AMD 64 3700) with the best possible screen rez (WUXGA 1920 X 1200) but the HD options (the 80 GB 5400 would be a better choice than that 4200...at least it's got more storage even if the speeds don't differ that much) and that Graphics card is awful...the closest thing to "perfect" I've been able to find on a 15.4" scale with an AMD is the ABS Mayhem G3 (AMD 64 3700, 60gb 7200 RPM, 128MB ATI MR9700, 1GB PC3200 (better than the PC2700 on HP)). The only "problem" as I see is that the monitor is only WXGA (1280 X 800) (not bad) and I've been told by others here that it runs really hot (not a godd sign).
