I'm having some screen problems such as the screen sort of rippling when I press the back as well as dvd playback looking very grainy. how about you?

i have to apply pressure to back of screen to get a any rippling but intel pro wireless software led me to a system restore within 24 hours of receiipt and screen looks grainy in all environments (dvd, mpg, 1680 rez, 1280 rez) will prop return if i cant straighten it out, still hopeful its a software of setting error but i dont know, Bill

If the screen, when gaming/when just on desktop is not grainy, you probably have a driver/software issue. What drivers/DVD player are you using?

The ripple effect you guys are seeing is 100% normal. Anytime preassure is applied to the back of an LCD you will see it. The LCD cover on the 3790 is not super thick, so when you apply preasure you are actually applying preasure to the LCD.

Ordered my 3790 wuxga Oct 15. I get the ripple thing but don't consider it a problem and have watched a scene of one dvd. I don't think it is grainy but then I don't have much to compare it with since I don't watch dvds on laptops (I'm not a traveler). I will say though, pictures and graphics on websites could not be crisper, not one complaint on the graphic performance under average circumstances. I'm probably going to install Vegas pretty soon and will report any graphic problems with video editing if and when they are encountered.

Polls like this are fine for attempting to gather information, but you need to redo it and set the results to show who voted. For some reason as proven many times on these forums, people from other sections with other brands will vote throwing off the results. For example, the people who voted they're having a problem:

ykmok Black_Barney mellonmman NverSage venenzi thegizile

At least two and probably 3 of the above don't even own a 3790 you can tell easily tell from their previous posts.

thegizile sig says he doesn't have a laptop yet but is thinking about the 3790

venenzi has never had a post on the forums

ykmok owns an Asus M6N

In fact I wouldn't even do a poll for something this specific, I'd start a thread having people post their date of purchase and yes/no if they've had a screen problem. It's just too easy to click and vote and it's like pushing a button, many can't stop themselves from doing it even if they have no business doing it .
