I'll be ordering a new notebook (ASUS M6Ne) tomorrow. This is a barebones notebook, so I need to select the processor, HD, and RAM.
Regarding the RAM, is there any benefit to "performance" RAM (like Corsair) with the 855PM chipset and ASUS BIOS? Can the Notebook benefit from either lower latencies settings or increased bus speed? If not, is there any other advantage in buying so called performance RAM modules, should they be more stable at default settings for instance? Does anyone have experience with tweaking the RAM setttings in this notebook?
I've even seen one vendor [http://www.geared2play.com] offering PC3200 (DDR400) RAM for this notebook, although the 855PM chipset does not explictly support anything over PC2700 (DDR333). I know that the RAM should be backward compatible, but is there any benefit (or penalty)?
