From what I can tell, this is a very good price. And I assume that there is some glaring problem... some really bad piece that I just don't notice. So what do you guys think about this? I want it as a semi-desktop replacement... something for me to game/use for school (will get a better gaming comp in a year or so prolly).

~~ just noticed I didn't need the extra AC adapter... so the real price would be ~$1, 521.35.

i read the reviews for it on these forums. Most people said it works great there are just a few things they dont like, such as the keyboard, optical drive placement, and scroll whell. BUT all the reviews i read for ibuypower.com said that the "expected shipping date" shown on that website was wrong and they had to wait a significant amount of time longer. I too am considering buying a notebook from tehre becuase i have looked everywhere and htey have the best price, espescialy since i do not want to pay for an OS.

i bought my uniwill from ibp and i had pretty good service from them. yes, the shipping part is true unfortunatly. it will take them nearly a month to ship your system, at least thats what it took them (25 days) for me. they do take forever. and they have a bad time answering email question, although they are very good on the phone.

btw...check out the s-turbo amd64-3 model right now. you cna get my spec for $1400 or up the ram and the cpu slightly for what you have to pay (i paid 1570 for my spec back in august)

The glaring problem with Ibp is inconsistency. I've seen reviews across the board with them. Sometimes you'll get incredbile service and product, other times shitty service as well as a product chock full of problems, as well as a mix of the two in various degrees.

On a side note, don't get something with a p4 in it. Makes your bat life absolutley horrid. Go pentium m or amd 64.

wow... that is a nice price... hmmmmmmmmmmmm indeed
I was looking at the Sager 5690, configured at the same specs and its priced at $1800

the sager is configured with a SXGA (1400 X 1020) display compared to the batalions WXGA 1200 x 800, to me wxga will not do... but that is a nice settlement on the price... hmmm

I have pretty much the same system, and can not say a bad thing about it except the keyboard, but I can get used to it. As to the shiping I was one of the fortunate few, my system was ordered on the 1st of october and was in my possesion on the 10th and that was including building time, shiping time and a weekend. One can not complain much about that.
Over all a very good system go for it. Runs games great, no complains

Yeah, I think I am going to go the AMD route.

I'm not too worried about the screen/keyboard since I'll mainly be hooking it up to my monitor and keyboard. But I'm curious, what is the difference between SXGA and WXGA?

how many pixels there are, mainly... the bigger the resolution the smaller stuff is also... i'm sure someone will be more detailed you can google search the too and find quick references!
