InterestingLike many of you I went into Device Manager and disabled the GeForce 4video card and rebooted my 5105-S501 in VGA mode. Just for grins I right clicked on the desktop and went to video settings and was pleasantly surprised to be able to select a higher resolution (now set at 1024x768) in spite of having the video card disabled. I am surprised that the mobo would have a video subsystem that could do this. I thought I'd be limited to VGA.
It plays videos just fine but it won't have real graphics acceleration for gaming. Not a big deal for me on this computer and this mode should suffice for most of my uses like web surfing, e-mail and running car diagnostics. The worst thing is that the choice to put the system in standby isn't functional.
