Hi all! I know that there is not any peoples in this "Toshiba issue group" but still I try to ask this. I don't use my Toshiba in hard use so I don't need Super computer that haves 4 ghz processor and 1gb Video card memory. Toshiba 5100-603 is so wonderful computer because it haves active matrix display. Is there any way to fix this? I took the computer to service but they didn't do anything for computer. Ok my problems are these:

◘ I can see vertical colored lines going through the display.

◘ When I shake computer or move it, the picture get's better or worse.

The problem came out when I was creating music with Modplug Tracker. When I was created the song a little while, screen freezed. 1 Minute later picture came 640x480 and colors was 4bit. Windows XP only gave message: "nVidia video card stopped working" or something like that. So I rebooted the computer and I got those vertical colored lines. The computer still haves the best resolution and 32bit mode. Can I fix this?

Thanks  -Eemil

Sorry my terribly English. I live in Finland.

Have you tried first by removing and re-installing the graphic driver? Have you tried with an external monitor?

If the above fail:
. Search for bake / baking / reball in the forum, you will get many hits for tips as how to go about it

No. I think problem is in the graphics card because when computer boots and it shows Toshiba logo, I can see the vertical colored lines.sad.gif And I haven't tried the external monitor because I don't have another monitor. Can I try with TV-OUT line what is backside of computer? I have read full this thing but I can see that this is very old thread.

I agree that's the GPU that goes out on you thus the recommendation to look at the bake / baking threads and post - it might help you revive the card
