Good Laptop Mouse

What's a good laptop mouse to get? The MX700 is a great mouse, but I don't want to carry around a docking station for the mouse. The MX300 is almost perfect, but nobody sells it, and if they do, it's overpriced. The MX500 is kind of an overkill with too many buttons, but I would prefer this over the MX310. I don't know too much about Microsoft mouses, but MS's wireless mouses are bad since battery gets eaten quickly. What do you guys have/recommend?

it's only $30 shipped... about the same price as it is for a mx500. yeah sure, this mouse is kinda big, but i love it so much that it doesn't bother me.

i have a intellimouse for mine was pretty cheep I think 20 bux at frys. I was looking at the mices specificly designed for notebooks, but most of em were either ultra tiny or were on the expensive side.

Here's my newest idea: Instead of using a corded mouse which sucks because you have to plug things in and stuff, why not buy the Bluetooth adapter for ~$25, and then use a bluetooth wireless (reduncy) mouse? What's the drawback here?

Just my two cents, but I have the MS Wireless Notebook Opt. Mouse and it is exceptional. Although it is pricey (~48 dollars after shipping and tax) I had gotten it for 10.03 after shipping and tax from Dell (bought two and sold one to China for 50 )

The mouse's response is exceptional and for being the latest gen.

Good luck to whatever you decide on!!

Oh and bluetooth sucks for the most part; poor response, good range though, VERY VERY bad on battery!!

I too have the Microsoft optical notebook mouse and for the most part it works perfectly fine. It's small and fits just right in my hand.

I acutally have the logitech wireless notebook mouse. It was toss up between that and the microsoft wireless notebook mouse. Either way I love mine. When i dock my lappy at home, I can use the USB Adapter to connect to my Wireless MX Duo which has two channels, so i can use one mouse on both my PC and Lappy. It works out great. I love wireless.

My Intellimouse is still running after 8 months, I use it on my desktop now though, because I hate how Intellite meses up my touchpad drivers.

whoa whoa whoa back up there. can you give more details? what's the model of the mouse? which laptop are you docking, the 700m? is there a way to sync the outlook files on my laptop and desktop? does the mx700 have two channels too?

The wireless Ms intellimouse can be had for only $10
(reg 50) at Office Depot right now, but you have to order online and then pickup instore.... To get it to ring up correct you have to follow these steps

goto Office Depot website

What about the size did you have to get used to? Too large or too small?

I have bluetooth adapter, but all the bluetooth mouses seem pretty expensive, so far

I use a wired microsoft "mini" mouse that's small enough to run on the edge of my 8600 if need be in cramped situations (I never will get the hang of the touchpad.)

I just bought a targus which is even tinier; it would be great on a plane, but sucks for general use; looks like it belongs in a dollhouse

This is a problem I have dealt with just lately. After using a Targus optical wirless (Ir) mouse for a little under a year we couldnt stand it anymore, that thing skips and jumps around on the screen. Then we went with the Microsoft Trackball, that was even worse. The thing just wouldnt work when you tried to roll the ball down or away from you. Then pop came back with the Logitech MX laser; its optical (very precise) and cordless so it does have a reciever/charger but the thing is awesome. The laser is probably one of the finest mice I have ever used and since the laptop hasnt really moved since we bought it the charger isnt really a factor. I have to say though that for a mouse the thing isnt cheap, about $80 I believe. Oh and the first one died on the first day but since the return it has worked perfect and has never messed up the track pad drivers or anthing like that.

I also use the Thermaltake XWing bluetooth mouse (same as BT500). It works great and have no complaints about it. It is smaller than most mice, but it's still usable/comfortable for me even with my big hands. People who say it's too small probably just didn't give it a chance.

The cheapest I've been able to find them is at zipzoomfly.com (search for Xwing) for $54.99 with the usb adapater or $47.99 if you don't need the usb adapter. Free 2 day shipping and no tax.

Not sure what's happening with yours, but mine never acts that way. I did initially set the computer to only allow that bluetooth device to connect. I am using whatever drivers came preinstalled on this 8600.

Also, I forgot to add earlier that the battery life for me has been excellent. I'm going on over a month now with the same 2 AAA batteries in the xwing/bt500. I use it for about 2-3 hours a day on weekdays and always make sure to turn it off when I'm done for the day. I would not call deem this as "eating batteries" at all.

it's small, no dock, batteries last long and the receiver stores inside the mouse when not in use. perfect for on the go. $20

Got it. Awesome deal. I couldn't do it the first time cause the store probably didn't have it. I tried anothr store and it had it, but it's 50 miles away. I'm going there anyways. but i am thinking about getting 2

did anyone see the coupon? it says it expires in 2014????? does this coupon work on anything??? i'll try later.
