Can you identify the problem?

hi...
i have had my i8600 for about 3 months now and i seem to notice the problems with the lcd screen. this is a weird problem.. its the opposite of light leakage.. Why do you ask that this is the opposite? well common light leakage is noticeable in a dark(black) background around the edges of the montior.. well mine is a bright spot on my monitor on white coloured background screens..in the middle (see attached picture). I have no clue what is wrong..i dont know what i should do. can anyone help?

note i have adjusted the contrast to bring out the bright patch to make it more noticeable and maintained the normal size to keep the resolution to enable it to be visable.

thanks

Looks like something is pressing from behind slightly, a little pressure.... dunno really. How bad is it, if it had to be all adjusted to be that noticeable perhaps it is one of those things you can live with.... if not give Dell a ring.

Yeah, I'm not sure how bad it is without the contrast adjustment, but I imagine it is still very noticable. I would definitely contact Dell.

Have them send you a shipping box and send it to Depot repair for a screen replacement.

is the white dot right in the spot where the trackpoint stick would be pushing on it, or from the dell badge on the top cover? gotta be careful with these things! been thinking about getting a 1/4 inch block of memory foam to put between the keyboard and lcd to keep dust and grime away... could be good.
