All,

Just wanted to thank all in this forum for the great info. I am stationed in So. Korea and came across The ProStar version of the 8790 and picked it up for $300.00. After playing with it, I figured ot that the memory was bad and I replaced it. It has worked out great. It is twice the machine my Dell Inspiron 8500 was. I had to reload everything and a great deal of the info came from the people in this forum. Thanks again

$300 for an 8790? It must be real HOT!!! And I don't mean when it is running.

Not that HOT!!!

Not exactly, no scraped off serial numbers here,

Turns out I am stationed on the same post as the guy who sold it to the repairman. He wasn't knowledgable when it comes to laptop computers so he got real frustrated with it and sold it for 250.00 and built a desktop. I got the guys name an a photo copy of his ID and tracked him down to talk, so the story comes from him.

So, the bottom line is that it's legit.
