If you do, your wish has been granted:

http://www.p4laptops.com.au/specials.htm

Scroll down to the ITC Millenium 6200. I talked to the place on the phone and they confirmed that it is the WSXGA, and that it comes with the 256Mb 9700.

In other words, this should be as fast for gaming as a Sager 8790, in the form factor of the M6ne, with the battery life of a Centrino.

Pretty cool huh?

Steve

Oh, and the price is about $2000 if converted into $US.

Somewhat false alarm. It now seems that it only comes with the WXGA screen, which is a little short sighted.

But for anyone who is OK with that resolution, it'll still be the fastest gaming notebook shy of an XPS.

Oddly enough, the specifications page for the ITC 6200 on the page where they linked to for pictures (ITC homepage), lists the video as 128MB..

having 256MB on a MR9700 is going to be a waste as the MR9700, powerful as it is, does not have the power to run most of the newer games (DOOM3, HL2) at anything higher than 1024x768. 256MB is only needed when you go beyond 1280x1024.

This all smells fishy. Differing specs here and there... I believe this when I see it. I also dont see how they are able to get different Asus stuff than any other retailer...

even at 1280x1024 there is almost no difference between 128 and 256 mb. On the 9800 pro, you start seeing the advantage at 1600x1200 and aa, af on.

nark is correct I had a 8790 and din't see any performance gains (worth the money) or greater benchmarks with the ATI M11 256MB version versus the 128MB version...
